Category:

Product Description

Established in 1993, Johor Endau-Rompin National Park with an area of 48,905 ha is the largest protected area in the South of Peninsular Malaysia. The oldest rainforest located in Southeast Johor is a treasure of biodiversity and a critical habitat that is very important for the survival of endangered megafauna in the country, including Malayan tigers, Malayan tapirs and Asian elephants.

There are two main entrances to the Johor Endau Rompin national park which is the Peta entrance located on the eastern border, in the Mersing district and the Selai entrance on the southwest border, in the Segamat district.

The entrance to Peta is the path to the wilderness in the Ulu Sungai Endau valley, where there are clear flowing rivers and the main attraction is the waterfall. A visit to Peta is also a cultural experience, since the Endau valley is located in the traditional land of the people of Kampung Peta whose survival depends on the forest with a unique and difficult to explain way of life. Through the eyes and hearts of the Jakun community, this eternal land is filled with oral history; inhabited by invisible beings; and live with the hidden message of loving animals.
