The Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Mosque, located in Kota Iskandar, serves as the second state mosque of Johor, following the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque in Johor Bahru. This modern and futuristic mosque was constructed through a collaboration between EUM Builders Berhad and Cahaya Jauhar Sdn. Bhd, the same developers responsible for the development of Kota Iskandar, a State Administrative Centre of Johor. Officially opened to the public on June 16, 2015, the mosque’s name pays homage to the memory of the 4th Sultan of Johor, Almarhum Sultan Iskandar ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail. With its contemporary design and significant role as a place of worship, the Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Mosque stands as a symbol of both religious and architectural importance in the state of Johor, representing the rich heritage and modern aspirations of the region.
