Kampung Lukut stands 40 kilometers away from the heart of Johor Bahru city and is situated just 4 kilometers from Kota Tinggi town. The village’s cultural elements, traditional cuisine and pastimes, as well as the architectural style of its houses, all bear the distinct imprint of the Minangkabau ethnic group. A majority of the villagers are adept at conversing fluently in their native tongue, Bahasa Minang.
Within the confines of Kampung Lukut Homestay, visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the richness of Minangkabau culture. They can partake in and savor a variety of activities such as zapin, angklung performances, and silat martial arts, among others. As the sun sets, tourists are treated to a mesmerizing spectacle as fireflies illuminate the darkness along the banks of Sungai Johor.
